At PCBasic, we are dedicated to providing customers with high-quality, high-efficiency and reliable PCB assembly (PCBA) services. To make the production process smoother and reduce possible problems during assembly, we have prepared three important reminders. Please be sure to read them before placing an order.
These contents can help you confirm that the components, panel design and dimensions all meet our automated SMT and assembly requirements, thus ensuring smooth production and on-time delivery.
In general, any extra or unused components you provide or purchased by PCBasic will not be returned by default.
If you wish to ship these components along with the assembled circuit board, please inform the salesperson in advance or note the specific names of the components you need to return when placing your order. Of course, PCBasic also offers a leftover material storage service, which is convenient for your future reorders. You can make a note of it when placing your order.
If the components are not supplied on reels, please provide a whole continuous strip of tape. Do not separate them in a scattered manner. If the same component is to be used in the assembly of multiple circuit boards, please do not cut the material tape. Keep the original reel tape or continuous material tape to facilitate machine mounting.
Minimum Quantity and Extra Parts Requirements
• Resistors, capacitors, diodes:
At least 50 should be provided, and 30 more should be prepared than the assembly quantity. For example: 40 need to be installed, please provide 70.
• Micro-packaged components:
At least 100 should be provided, and 50 more should be prepared than the assembly quantity. For example: 80 need to be installed, please provide 130.
For high-priced or precision components (such as ICs, BGA, QFP, connectors, etc.), please prepare an extra 1 to 5 to prevent wear and tear or defects during assembly and avoid affecting the production schedule.
If you have any questions, please contact the PCBasic technical support team for more instructions.
If the size of your circuit board is less than 50mm × 100mm, or the shape of the circuit board is an irregular shape (such as round or custom outlines), it must be designed as a panel array before assembly.
When your PCB manufacturing and assembly are both completed by PCBasic, our engineering team will automatically generate panelization and solder paste data during the board-making stage and directly transmit them to the assembly department.
This can ensure that the stencil is perfectly matched with the layout of the panel, thereby ensuring precise alignment during installation and enhancing production efficiency and consistency.
If the distance between the edge of the circuit board and the copper features is less than 3.5mm (138mil), or your circuit board design requires panelization, then break-away rails/break-away tabs must be added on the two longer parallel edges of the panel.
The function of these rails is to ensure that the circuit board can be securely transported and assembled during the automated SMT production process, thereby avoiding deformation, vibration or operational errors during mounting, reflow soldering and other processes, and improving assembly accuracy and production stability.
PCBasic is committed to delivering precise, efficient, and high-quality PCB assembly.
By following these special reminders, you can help us ensure smooth processing and on-time delivery of your PCBA projects.
