Why Are the Vias Produced as Solder Mask Openings Even Though I Selected “Tenting Vias” in My Order?

This situation occurs because many customers are not fully familiar with the “via process” options on our website or leave them as default settings. To avoid production errors, PCBasic always follows the actual Gerber files when manufacturing. Therefore, if the vias are shown as solder mask openings in your Gerber files, we will produce them accordingly.

If the provided files are in .pcb or .pcbdoc format, our engineering team will confirm the via process with you before production to ensure we do not generate incorrect Gerber data.

If you are unable to modify the Gerber files, but you need the vias to be different from what is shown in the files, please add a clear note about your via process requirements (e.g., “all vias tented” or “vias open on top side only”) when placing your order.
