Solder Mask File Is Empty or Missing

Reason for Failed Review:

Our engineers find that your solder mask layer is empty or that no solder mask file is included in your Gerber package. Since the solder mask defines which areas of the PCB should or should not be coated with solder ink, this issue prevents us from confirming your intended surface finish.

PCBasic Suggestions

1. If this is intentional, please confirm whether you would like us to cover the entire PCB with solder mask ink (for example, full green coverage except for pads).

2. If you prefer no solder mask, please let us know — we can produce the PCB fully open without applying any solder ink.

3. If this is not intentional, please update your Gerber files to include the correct solder mask layer and send them to us again for review.

PCBasic Tip

To avoid similar confusion in future orders, please describe your requirement clearly in the “Other Special Request” section, such as:

“Please cover the entire bottom side with green solder mask.”

Providing this note helps our engineers clearly understand your design intent and ensures the PCB is produced exactly as you expect.
