How to Design Cutouts or Large Holes

Reason for Failed Review:

In your drill drawing layer, there are more drill marks than those defined in the actual drill layer.

This makes it unclear whether these additional marks are intended to be drilled holes or cutouts/slots.

PCBasic needs to confirm this before production to avoid fabrication errors.

PCBasic Suggestions:

•  Please design large holes or cutouts/slots directly in the drill layer, or alternatively in the GKO or GM1 mechanical layer.

•  By default, PCBasic fabricates slots and cutouts defined in the GKO or GM1 layer.

•  Clearly distinguishing between drill holes and milled cutouts in your design helps ensure accurate interpretation and prevents production delays.

Following this method ensures your cutouts are processed correctly and your PCB dimensions match the intended design.
